Project: Create a unique logo to be used to brand the library. The logo should accompany and enhance our new tagline, “Where Community Connects”. We chose this slogan because we are a “Community” - combined school and public library - and we felt the word connect has many connotations – social, intellectual, digital.
The logo will be used along with our name and tagline on all correspondence, library information brochures/fliers and literature, and our webpage. It should be clear, black and white, and reproduce easily. The logo should emphasize our strengths and the central role of the library in the community. It can be abstract or realistic.
A recent survey of our patrons indicates that our strengths are the friendliness and helpfulness of our staff, our multi-age environment, our community-mindedness, our programming for children and families, and our up-to-date, abundant physical collections.
We offer the opportunity to submit a design to this competition to all area artists and high school or college art students. If your design is selected for use, you will be rewarded with bragging rights and a $100 gift certificate to Artists Medium (also known as vtmakeart.com) in Williston.
The library will retain the rights to the design for all future use.
