Mary O. (Provost) Boozan

Essex Jct - Mary Orrena (Provost) Boozan, 92, passed away at Birchwood Terrace Healthcare in Burlington on Thursday March 26, 2015. She was born in Burlington, VT on April 25, 1922 daughter of the late Allen Edward and Orrena (Cavanaugh) Provost. She married Roger Boozan on July 25, 1945 at St. Thomas Church in Underhill Center and they happily spent 67 years together until his passing on February 25, 2013. Mary loved having her family around and cooking meals for them and getting together with them often. She also enjoyed gardening and sewing. She was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and a dear friend to many who will be missed by all those who truly knew and loved her.

Mary is survived by son Ron Boozan and his wife Julie of Bolton; four grandchildren: Michael Boozan of Colchester; Sonia Leclair and husband Devin of Churubusco NY;
Bobby Boozan of St. Albans; Nicole Boozan-Hayden and Andrew Hayden of St. Albans; ten great grandchildren: Kelsie; Kaitlyn, Aubrey, Josh, Hannah, Nicolas, Landon, Abby, Kendall, Jace.

She was also predeceased by her husband Roger Boozan, sons James Boozan on June 9, 2002 and William Boozan on January 30, 2015

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at A. W. Rich Funeral Home – Essex Chapel, 57 Main Street, Essex Jct., VT 05452. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Family Church, Essex Jct. on Wednesday April 8, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Charles Ranges, S.S.E officiating. Burial will be held in the family lot in the spring in Binghamville Cemetery with the time and date to be announced. Memorial contributions in Mary’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, VT Chapter, 300 Corner Stone Drive Suite 128, Williston, VT 05495.
