Title: Coyote spotted near town on Fletcher Road
Post by: Happy on August 22, 2007, 06:01:45 PM
I just wanted to alert folks in town that I just spotted (6:45pm) a coyote as he trotted across the field behind my place (80 Fletcher Road).  The field has just recently been cut.  He entered the brush along the side of Mill Run, taking the time to mark the edge before he went in.  I've seen many coyotes and he was certainly on the big side.  I know my cats & dogs won't be going out unsupervised this evening!

Hi Brenda,

My daughter down in Bellows Falls sent me the following note:

Henry and I had a coyote cross in front of our car on the way to Keene last year-----yuck.  As Henry will tell you, it is always open season to shoot coyotes because they have no natural predators.  They are clearly getting overpopulated in our area and will are not afraid of man, which is the scary thing.

(The Henry she mentions is my grandson)
