Went down to Steeple Market this morning looking for something to eat.  Had just taken an apple pie out of the oven and as I approached the meat counter, sitting on top of it was a huge round block of cheese.  Reminded me of the old days when I lived in Fairfield and  used to go down with my Dad to get his horses shod at the Blacksmith Shop.  It was pretty much an all day affair and back in those days we did not have a Deli in Fairfield so for dinner Dad would go in and buy a big hunk of store cheese and some crackers and also a big 14oz bottle of Pepsi for each of us.  Caught Alex Russell and asked him if he would cut me a pound of cheese, which he did.  Well, it was 1.1 pound.  Pretty close for a young fellow not accustomed to doing this.

By the way, I understand Pierre only has this block out on Wednesdays.  The cheese, Well it is mighty good.  I won't be eating a well balanced meal today.
