Patrick Hogan, Sr. 84 died peacefully in the comfort of his home the way he lived, with strength, courage and dignity.

Born to John and Nellie Bushnell Hogan in 1932, he was the youngest son of ten children and through his family grew into who he was, a man of perseverance and compassion. He made the most of every moment, smiling to passersby, lending a helping hand and working countless jobs before finding a home at IBM, which he retired from after thirty years. He was a parishioner of Holy Angels Church and a member of Knights of Columbus. He could always be found watching his beloved New York Yankees.

With any free moment, Patrick spent time nurturing and growing his family and his numerous gardens. Together for over fifty-nine years, Patrick and his beloved wife, Pauline Montagne Hogan made for smiles, laughter memories and countless gatherings with friends, families and neighbors. Alongside each other they always opened their hearts and home to those they cared most about, touching the lives of many. Most important were their seven children and the families that wrapped around them.

Patrick is survived by his children, Catherine and husband, Rick Colman; Julie and husband, Richard Longway; Linda and husband, Albert Gaboriault; Patricia Pelkey, Paula Hogan, and Patrick Hogan, Jr., their grandchildren Travis and wife, Kirsten Longway; Adam and wife, Christine Longway; Stephanie and husband, Michael Merchand; Shauna and husband, Adam Mace; Jenna Pelkey, Erica Young, Danielle and Ryan Hogan, and nine great-grandchildren as well as his siblings, Joyce Barkyomb; Patricia and husband, Robert White; Eileen Hogan and in-laws, Francois and wife, Annette Montage; Suzanne and husband, Peter Spillane; Claudette and husband, Michael Kilduff; Gabrielle and husband, Stephen Johnson and Betty Montagne.

Patrick is predeceased by his loving wife, Pauline Montagne Hogan; infant son, Timothy; son-in-law, James Pelkey; brothers, Gordan Lepper, John, Robert, William, and Donald Hogan; and sisters, Jean Chennette, Janice Hoban and many in-laws.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Patrick’s family on Thursday, April 21, 2016 from 4:00 to 7:00PM at the Heald Funeral Home, 87 South Main St., St. Albans.
