This year’s theme is “This Land is our Land.” We as Americans access our Nation’s landscape in
many ways. From responsible development, to preservation of specific ecosystems, there are
countless ways to show our appreciation of our Nation’s natural beauty. Participation in the
theme is encouraged, but not required to be in the parade.

This year the PTSA raised enough money to send each child home with a book at the end of the school year, and boxes and boxes to pass out to Fairfax kiddos along the parade route! A HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who participated in PTSA sponsored activities this year!!
The PTSA is in need of helpers, preferably with wagons, to pass out books along the parade route. We had a crew last year and it was a lot of fun! If you'd like to march with the PTSA holding the banner (need 3 people) or pulling a wagon with your kiddo handing out books, please email me rosa.katie@gmail.com.
Participation in the theme, as mkr stated, encouraged, but not required.

Time to start getting ready for the parade!
Looking forward to another great 4th of July Parade and Community Day!

Eastman's Bakery will be in the park with their delicious Ice Cream Sandwiches again this year!
Kingdom Creamery Ice Cream that you love at the Fairfax Farmer's Market will also be there!
The Slovakia Shack, will also be there serving up Gyros!
Oh Sweet and their amazing Cupcakes form the Fairfax Farmers Market!
The bouncy Castle will be back again this year as well ($1 for children up to 13 to go in and gets them in as many times as they can while event is running) as some other fun free games for the children to enjoy!
Ducky Race will be at 3:30pm! Be sure to get your ducky tickets at your local businesses or at the Fairfax Farmer's Market this week! We have a last ducky place prize as also this year thanks to Eastman's Bakery! A GIANT DUCKY Cookie!!! Be sure to watch the race until the end.
We will also be selling Ducky Tickets until about 3:15pm in the park

Rec Park is Selling Burgers/Cheeseburgers, Hot Dogs, Chips, Water and Soda, and Popcorn in the park after the Parade!
We might have a vendor for Fries as well! Stay tuned!

People Helping People Global, our local not for profit will be there too. We will be selling beautiful fair trade Nicaraguan crafts.
