ST. ALBANS - Mary Wright, RN of Essex recently retired after 10 years at The Converse Home, an assisted living community in Burlington in operation since 1886. Mary has been a nurse and an educa- tor for nearly 50 years. It is estimated she taught over 1,800 nurses in the span of her career at Fanny Allen School of Nursing and serving as the Program Director after the school became part of Vermont Technical College.

When she joined The Converse Home in 2006, Mary was the supervisor in its newly established memory care community, setting the standard for excellence in care. She later became the Staff Educator and in 2012 was named Staff Educator of the Year by the VT Health Care Association.

In recognition of her years of contribution to The Converse Home and the nursing profession, their staff education fund has been renamed the Mary Wright Staff Development Fund. Contributions in her honor can be made on-line at www.conversehome.com or by check to The Converse. Home, 272 Church St., Burlington, VT. 05401
