Imminent Water Shortage Village of Jeffersonville
Contact: Doug Babcock, Cambridge VT Emergency Management Director, 802-644-6401
The Village of Jeffersonville Board of Trustees are requesting customers to conserve water, until further notice. As many of you know, New England has been experiencing a drought all summer. The springs that feed water into our system have dropped off significantly. Please take any action you can to limit the amount of water you use. Mother nature is the only one who can turn it around. We will let you know as soon as the springs have recovered.
Some suggestions for temporarily reducing consumption are:
Check faucets, pipes, and toilets for leaks in your home.
Don’t let the faucet run while you’re washing your hands or brushing your teeth.
Take shorter showers, try using a timer for fun.
Flush immediately only after solid waste.
Use your dishwasher or washing machine for full loads only.
If you still have water in your pool, you can use it to flush toilets and clean.
Please be mindful of your actions. They will affect our system and your neighbors’ ability to take a shower in the morning. Anything you can do to help us through this tough time is greatly appreciated.
