Title: Smugglers Notch closed by tractor-trailer accident

I didn't think Tractor Trailers were allowed on that road --

September 24, 2007
CAMBRIDGE -- Vermont State Police report that because of accident on Vermont 108 involving a tractor-trailer unit, the road through Smugglers Notch will be closed for several hours.

The truck is stuck on the Cambridge side of the Notch and crews are working to free vehicle. Motorists need to seek alternate routes.

There are no injuries and there is no risk to public safety.

Smugglers Notch reopened after tractor-trailer accident

CAMBRIDGE -- Vermont 108 through Smugglers Notch was reopened at about 7:30 p.m. Monday after being closed for several hours by an accident involving a tractor-trailer, Vermont State Police in Williston said.

The truck became stuck on the Cambridge side of the Notch and crews worked to free the vehicle.

There were no injuries, police said.

I guess they need even bigger signs than the approx 5 foot ones they have near the last turn around and parking lot?  Hopefully, they send the bill for the mess to the trucking company
