Cecile Rainville
Fairfax – Cecile Theresa Rainville, 84, died peacefully on Monday, November 28, 2016 at her home with her loving family by her side. Cecile was born on March 9, 1932 in Canada, the daughter of the late Gerard and Alexina (Prive) Laferriere. On August 18, 1951 she married the love of her life, Jean Louis Rainville and they were married for over 62 years.
Cecile's first love was her husband, her children, grandchildren & great grandchildren. She worked by her husbands side for many years on their dairy farm while raising their six children and then in their woodworking shop after retiring from farming. She dedicated many years to St. Lukes Catholic Church woman's group. She was also involved in starting the Al-Anon chapter in Fairfax which touched and comforted many people during their troubled times.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Claude & Christine Rainville, Mark & Sheri Rainville, Diane & Rick Marsh, Norman Rainville, Louise & Jeff Webb and Lynn Parah. She also leaves 12 grandchildren and their spouses, Aaron Rainville & Tara Cushing, Nicole & Lee Bates, Matt & Mira Rainville, Adam Rainville, Brenon& Rachael Rainville, Michelle & Dan Fletcher, Ryan & Ashley Marsh, Katie & Tim Bessette, Allison & Paul Lague, Ashley, Melanie, and Danielle Parah and 16 great grandchildren, Natalie, Mariah, Vivian, Kayleigh, Kalvin, Megan, Maya, Hudson, Evan, Sean, Anna, Cassidy, Kelsey, Reed, Ryaleigh and Harper.
She is also survived by 2 sisters, Denise & spouse, Alan Parent of Lyndonville and Monica Butler of Claremont, NH; 1 brother and spouse, Reginald & Sandra Laferriere of St. Albans; 2 brother in laws and their spouses, Jean Guy &Fernande Rainville and Gilles & Claudette Rainville of Fairfax; 4 sister in laws, Fernande Tougas; Imelda & spouse, John Tougas, of Swanton; Therese Paquette of Jericho and Lillian Rainville of St. Albans; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 2 brothers, Dennis and Albert, a granddaughter, Michelynn Rainville; a great granddaughter, Hallie Bates, 7 brothers-in-law, 3 sisters-in-law & 3 nieces & nephews.
A very special thank you to Nancy Cardinal who helped us through our mom's difficult journey. You were not only kind to our mom but to our entire family. Your dedication and compassion will always be remembered. Also, a special thank you to Carolyn Murray for caring for our mom with such love and compassion.
Calling hours to celebrate Cecile’s life will be held on Thursday, December 1th from 4:00-7:00 pm at A.W. Rich Funeral Home in Fairfax. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, December 2nd at 11:00 am at St. Luke’s Church in Fairfax with Reverend Henry Furman officiating with burial immediately following at St. Luke’ Catholic Cemetery.
