Title: Rita Bessette Is Back In The Hospital
Post by: Henry on September 27, 2007, 11:20:30 AM
Hi All,

As many of you probably already know, Rita Bessette had a mastectomy a week ago last Tuesday and I spoke with her son Bob who told me that went fine.  This past Tuesday night I heard the ambulance called out and when I heard they were going to 1979 Main Street, I thought "Oh No!!, That's Bob & Kathy Bessette's place.  I bet its Rita."

Now, I don't know everybody's address here in town, but I remember Bob telling me his address was very easy to remember, because the house number was the same as the year he and Kathy got married.  Interesting the things we remember and how we remember them.

Excuse my rambling, but they ended up taking Rita down to the Northwest Medical Center.  Bob had taken her for her checkup earlier in the day with her surgeon and as I said earlier, that went well.  It was Bob's day off, so he was home and later in the afternoon Rita started shaking all over.  She told Bob she had a sharp pain in one leg, plus was weak in her legs, etc.  Bob was afraid that it might be a blood clot as she had been off her Coumadin since before the surgery and not able to resume taking it yet.  Turns out there were no clots luckily, but she has a bladder infection and Cellulitis had started in one leg.

Rita is now on IV antibiotics at the Northwest Medical Center and if it is anything like her battle with it about a year ago, she could be there for quite a while -  I am sure those of you that know Rita realize this kind of thing can be just a bit depressing, so it would be a nice gesture to send Rita a note and try to lift her spirits just a bit.  To send a note to Rita at the hospital, use the following address:

Mrs. Rita Bessette - Room 116
Northwest Medical Center
POB 1370
St. Albans, Vermont  05478

I have gotten permission from Bob to send out this information as well as put it up on my forum - This is a great opportunity for you to do a good deed - As we reach these Golden Years, I am sure a kind word from a friend is always uplifting.  Maryann can certainly sympathize with Rita with this as she has had several bouts of it herself.  Actually she just finished taking her last antibiotic pill last night.  It comes on very quickly.  Bob helped me out with a little more common explanation with a word that I am much more familiar with and that is "Blood Poisoning."[/b]
