Hi All,
Well, this past week they started insulating my daughter's house. Since I don't have a lot keeping me busy, I watch what is going on strictly out of curiosity. Below is the business card of the company she had doing the job - Cliff Parah is the nephew of Ron Parah who lived here in town and built a number of houses here as well as Phil Parah who used to live on the corner of The Austin Road in the brick house. Back when we moved to Fairfax in 1953, the Parah family lived up on the end of what I think they call The Shaw Road up in Fletcher.

They did what I think is an outstanding job. They caulked all the cracks where the boards joined, sealed the electrical outlets and put some kind of styrofoam for air space under the insulation. They also made sure there was a vent in the eaves and worked with her builder to make any changes they felt were necessary for a good insulation job. They started this past Tuesday and in order to make sure they would be done for the dry wall people, ended up working Saturday and Sunday. I visited with Cliff today and told him I was very impressed with his work. I certainly would recommend him to anyone who needs some insulation done as it is quite obvious he wants to make sure the customer is satisfied and they do do an excellent job.
With the costs of fuel to heat our houses today, this certainly is a very important part of construction or repair of a home.
I took some pictures as the guys were insulating for my daughter that you can take a look at if you wish - It actually shows the detail with which the guys insulated the house. You can click on the following two links if you wish:
