Winter weather will return to the North Country today, thanks to a fast-moving, but potent, coastal system. A *SNOW ADVISORY* is in effect until 3 PM for our east-central sections, stretching into northern NH. A *HEAVY SNOW WARNING* is in effect until Noon for Bennington and Windham counties and southern NH.
5-10" of snow could pile up in the Warning areas, and anywhere from 2-5" in the Advisory areas. Northern NY and VT will only get a dusting to 4" of snow out of this storm.
Mid-week will be quiet, but another coastal storm will bring a potentially heavier snowfall to the northeast by Thursday night and Friday.
A blast of Arctic air will then chill us down over the weekend.
I talked with my daughter down in Hampton, NH and they are expecting a foot of snow down there with up to 18 inches up the coastline into Maine. We of course will not be skipping the cold air coming this weekend.
