Title: A Man Dies Alone
Post by: Henry on January 23, 2008, 07:56:34 AM
Hi All,

There have been a couple of situations recently where a couple of people have died and nobody claims the body.  One such situation was in St. Albans where a man did have some relatives out of state and some friends here in the state.  One of the friends put an article in the St. Albans Messenger stating that the man had died and he had a mother and a couple of sisters living, but since she was not a relative she could do nothing.

I received a call last week regarding a man who died in Burlington and they were wondering if I had any information on the man in the obituary that appears in this morning's Burlington Free Press:

WILLIAM A. BURNOR BURLINGTON — William A. Burnor, 63, died on Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2008, at his home. He was born in Vermont on Dec. 16, 1944, and had worked with the custodial/maintenanc e service at UVM. A gravside service will be held on Thursday, Jan. 24, at 10 a.m. in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Annex, Pomeroy Street. Arrangements are by Elmwood-Meunier.

Although we did have some Burnors in town and surrounding towns, I had no information on this man or his family - If someone does know anything about the man or his family, please send me an e-mail vtgrandpa@yahoo.com and I will get the information to the people that contacted me.
