Wow.
What a week.
Left East Bay Raceway Park at 11:30pm Saturday night, and arrived back on Buck Hollow Road around 2:30am Monday morning.
I have updated my site.
http://mysite.verizon.net/vze7krm0 (http://mysite.verizon.net/vze7krm0)
55 cars. Top notch drivers. A struggle for everyone there.
A slick track, but with radically changing the car's set-up, Anthony held his own, finishing fourth in the final nights B-Main, missing out on the $10,000-to-win A-Main by one position.
I can't wait for the racing season to begin in April.
200 pictures. 1500 miles
Not much sight seeing or shopping.
We went racing.
In Florida.
I went to Florida.

Well, I went to your web site every morning, just to make sure you didn't have a mystery person inputting something for you - You just don't look natural in that photo of the day relaxing down there in Florida. Glad you are back.
Bev Raburn sent me this link http://www.ascsracing.com/racenotes.asp?ID=57814&yr=2008 (http://www.ascsracing.com/racenotes.asp?ID=57814&yr=2008) that I am sure you can explain to us not knowledgeable with racing.

Here's how things went.
The big race of the night is the A-Main.
You need to qualify for the A-Main through qualifying heats.
ASCA has a system where you get points for passing cars in the heats, that are added to the points you get for where you finished in that heat.
Example: You get 50 points for winning a heat race, 47 for secoind, 44 for third and keep minus-ing 3 points for every position downward. However, you get 1 point if you pass a car during the heat. So the winner starts 1st, finishes 1st, and gets 50 points. 2nd place finisher started 4th, gets 47 points, PLUS 2 points for passing two cars for 49 points. 3rd place finisher started 8th and gets 44 points plus 5 for a total of 49.
There were 55 cars, so they had 7 heat races with 8 cars in each. They then add up the points, and the top 18 qualify for the A-Main. The other 37 get divided up into 3 B-Mains and they take the top 2 finishers in each one to fuill out the 24 car starting grid for the A-Main. They then pull 6-8 numbers out of a hat of the guys who still didn't qualify, and have a Strawberry Dash, a 10 lap race where the winner gets a case of strawberrys.
Starting postions for the heats are determined by the individual drivers drawing numbers out of a hat. Low number start up front, etc.
Hope that helped.
Anthony's car was featured on Hoseheads.
It was a grest adventure and a great learning experience for all of us.
