Winter storm warning now in effect until 8 pm est this evening.
The NWS in burlington has extended the winter storm warning for north central and northeast vermont, as well as for the champlain valley of vermont and new york, until 8 pm est this evening.
Snow will continue across northern vermont and the champlain valley into this evening. The snow will be heavy at times, and may be mixed with some sleet or freezing rain through late afternoon. Any additional ice accumulations will be light. Total snow and sleet accumulations will range from 4 to 8 inches in the champlain valley, and from 6 to 10 inches in north central and northeast vermont. Given these conditions, travel will be extremely difficult and caution is urged when venturing out this evening.
