Title: Man Who Kept Gas Prices In Control In St. Albans Has Died
Post by: Henry on March 31, 2008, 07:11:30 PM
Hi All,

Lester Eaton who owned Lesters in St. Albans for many years and pretty much controlled what the gas price in St. Albans would be, has died at the age of 87.  Lester owned Lesters up on the North End of St. Albans where there is a Go Go Gas Station now.  Lester would lower his prices and everyone in St. Albans would do the same.  I am sure many of you remember that.  Lester used to say, I can live on making just a penny per gallon without a problem.  Nobody had lower gas prices than Lester.  Too bad he decided to go out of business in 1990.  Maplefields tries to do the same now, but not to the extent that Lester did.
