Title: When Muddy Roads Were Really Muddy

Was reading in the Burlington Free Press this morning about muddy roads.  I remember Albert Rich telling me about how bad route 128 used to get.  He slowly got up and pulled out his old black photo album and showed me the picture above.  He couldn't remember exactly just where on Route 128 this was, but thought from the looks of the car, the photo was probably taken around 1922.  By looking at the road, I would say with that base, I suspect it could have something to do with how bad Route 128 gets each spring.

I can remember not to long ago.  When King Road would be almost like that.  After they cleared the trees out, it helped a lot.  While still living at home, the ruts (after a good over night freeze) caused me to go off the road a bit.  Thankfully DJ Leach was doing some work and he pulled me out with the town plow truck.
