Title: DJ Says Its OK
Post by: Henry on April 17, 2008, 08:17:30 AM
Stopped by the Town Garage yesterday and found DJ Leach working out back.  I asked him if he thought it would be OK if I dumped my sand that I brush off my lawn on the pile they have outside the gate as with the salt shortage this year and the extra sand used, I was going to have a little more than I could dispose of.  He told me it would be OK.  I know that for legal reasons, they don't allow people go go near the large sand pile.  I believe that someone was injured a number of years ago in some town because the pile or something tumbled down on them.  That is when the town started putting a small pile of sand outside the gate for people to use if they needed it.

I see people there from time to time in the winter getting sand for their driveways.  I only did that once and now keep a couple bags of Rock Salt to use.  I found cleaning up that sand off my black top was a bit much.

Looks like it is going to be a nice lawn sprucing up week according to the weather forecast:

Our streak of delightful spring weather will continue today as high pressure remains in control.  Most of us will reach the low 70s for highs today, and we'll all get into the low-to-mid 70s on Friday!  The warm spell will last into the start of the weekend before we finally cool off a bit by Sunday and Monday.  There will also be a chance for showers by the end of the weekend and the start of next week.
