Essex Junction residents braced Sunday for increased traffic, one day before the Essex Junction Redevelopment Project commences.
Construction at the Five Corners starts Monday at 6:30 a.m. Workers will renovate the intersection daily from 6:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. through October.
Some residents are concerned with worsening traffic in an already congested intersection.
"It can be annoying, but at the same time don't fix it if it ain't broke," said Peter Jacobson, a resident.
The Essex Police Department is asking drivers to seek out alternate routes during work hours.
