Title: Speed Limit In Town Now 30 MPH
Post by: Henry on June 05, 2008, 08:54:10 AM
Hi All,

Well, I would hate to be the first person picked up for speeding in town as I am sure anyone that has followed me knows.  I have received two speeding tickets in my day, both for going 42 mph in a 25 mph zone.  The first one was on February 22, 1957 in Essex Center and the last one, I don't remember the exact date, but it was going down Fairfield Street by the Kerbs Hospital.

I just received a note regarding the new speed limit in town and will personally try to remember it, but like many old Vermonters, this might be one of the things that I might not notice has changed.  Let someone move a chair in their lawn, park a different car in their yard, have a delivery truck in their driveway, I notice that right away.

Just keep the new speed limit in mind as you are driving through town - I actually received the note because someone was following a school bus through town exceeding the speed limit.

This is going to be a tough speed limit to get accustomed to, even for this old slow poke.
