Title: My Old Optometrist Passes Away - Dr. Walter Johnson
Post by: Henry on June 11, 2008, 06:59:05 AM
Hi All,

I have worn glasses since I was in the second or third grade which would make that in the very early 1940s - My first eye Doctor was Dr. Babbi and he was not really a child's eye Doctor - Very gruff indeed, so my next Doctor was a young new one who had started a practice in St. Albans in his home at 50 Bank Street, and I and my family continued to go to him for many years.  I remained with him until he retired and have to admit that I have not found another that I trusted as much as I did him.  Healds sent me the following preliminary obituary:

Walter H. Johnson, O.D.
(December 21, 1917 - June 11, 2008)

St. Albans - Dr. Walter H. Johnson, retired local Optometrist, passed away early Wednesday June 11, 2008, at the Northwestern Medical Center with his loving family at his side.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time and will be posted at a later date.
