WESTFORD -- Two men were injured in a Fourth of July crash in Westford that Vermont State Police said appeared to be alcohol related.
Alfred Williams, 29, of Westford, suffered cuts and bruises and Clifton Margle, 31, of Barton complained of a neck injury and bruises following the crash around 11:25 p.m. Friday on Brookside Road. Brookside Road is the road where The Westford Elementary School is located.
State Police said the 2008 Subaru Legacy Williams was driving hit a rock ledge on the driver’s side, became airborne and hit the ledge again before coming to a rest.
Passersby were helping the two when authorities arrived on the scene. State police said the crash remains under investigation but that alcohol appeared to be a factor.
If you happened to hear Fairfax Rescue go out around midnight or so, I suspect they may have gone to help Essex Rescue, although I think this end of Westford is considered Fairfax Rescue territory.
