A recall to be aware of for both New Yorkers and Vermonters.
Trans-Ocean Products, Inc. is recalling 4-ounce cracked pepper style smoked salmon (lot number 54933-2). It was distributed to Price Choppers in New York, Vermont, Pennsylvania and Massachusetts.
The product may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, which is an organism that can cause serious, sometimes even fatal infections in young kids, the elderly and those with a weakened immune system.
No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this problem.
