Was sitting in the living room last night and the dispatcher for Fairfax Fire & Rescue makes an announcement over the scanner, asking Fire & Rescue to come to the station saying, "We're Evacuating The Building."
Well, that startled me for a minute as I wasn't quite sure where the Dispatcher was located, but thought it was in St. Albans. Later on in the evening I heard the Dispatcher come back on, apparently back in the building. This morning I see what I think must have been the problem on the Channel 2 Web Site:
A bomb threat was made against the St. Albans Police Department last night.
The call was received around 9 p.m. The building, which also houses the city fire department, was evacuated. Neighbors near the police department were put on alert.
"A male caller called the station and advised that a bomb had been placed at the facility, the fire and police facility, and we had 30 minutes," said Police Chief Gary Taylor.
No bomb was found.
Police are working to trace the call to see who made the threat.
