High winds have knocked down a tree in the vicinity of Kinney Road on the Fletcher Road just above my house which in turn has some hot power lines down. Traffic is being stopped at Comette Road and up in Fletcher at Fairfield Road. CVPS is enroute according to what I heard on my scanner. Fairfax Fire is on scene. This is an unofficial report and hopefully I got it right.

Fletcher Road still closed and from what I understand, could still be a couple hours before CVPS arrives.
Really heavy rain, although the wind does seem to have died down. Apparently nobody from the Sheriff's department can assist the fireman with traffic control, so they are still hanging in there.
I have had the porch light on watching the heavy rain feeling very thankful that I have power and don't have to be out there. We do indeed need to be very greatful to these wonderful volunteers. No knowing how long they will be out there, until the power company gets out here.

Around 3 a.m. this morning, it looked like cars may have still been turned around at Comette Road as I would see some go up and a short time later see some come back by the house. Noticed that Mike Cain didn't post a blog last night - Probably a very good reason why, since he may have been one of the firemen on the lousy detail last night. Didn't happen to see the CVPS truck go by, but apparently they were in no hurry.
Kudos to FXFD for their response and diligence.
