Thelda “Tillie” A. (Dodge) Warren
Cambridge - Thelda “Tillie” Arvine (Dodge) Warren, 91 passed away suddenly Thursday October 30, 2008 at Copley Hospital in Morrisville. Tillie was born on February 10, 1917 in South Cambridge, VT daughter of the late Martin and Beulah (Hapgood) Dodge. She was a graduate of Cambridge High School class of 1935. She married John William Warren on February 6, 1937 in Underhill who predeceased her on September 27, 2005. Tillie had been employed at Boulder Cabins In Smugglers Notch At The Big Spring and as a sales clerk at Cambridge Community Co-Op Lockers, Machia’s Sales and Service and other local stores. She enjoyed her weekly games of Bingo at the Eagles Club and the annual Shriners Bingo game. Tillie loved to visit her son’s camp in Belvidere. She enjoyed traveling and socializing with her family and many friends following her retirement and looked forward to her weekly Saturday morning breakfasts at area restaurants. In the earlier years she looked forward to playing cards and dancing. Later on in life she enjoyed knitting and reading books. She was loved by many friends and will be missed by all.
She is survived by: Her three sons. Martin Warren and wife Barbara of Morrisville; Gary Warren and wife Carol of Underhill; Jeffrey Warren of Cambridge; Her daughter Jeanette Hill and husband Robert of Bristol; Her brother Clark Dodge and wife June of Jeffersonville; Her loving grandchildren and great grandchildren; Several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is also predeceased by Her sister Lorraine Wells and her husband Wendell “Stub” Wells; Her brother-in-law Kenneth Warren; Her sister-in-law Barbara McGee.
There will be no public visiting hours. A graveside service with inurnment will be held at Jeffersonville Village Cemetery on Monday November 3, 2008 at 12:00 p.m. with Reverend Peggy Tooker officiating.
