Title: Fairfax Post Cards
Post by: Henry on November 02, 2008, 07:43:46 AM
I got a request the other day from a kid in a class that is trying to get postcards from every State in the United States.  I remembered then that the last time I got a request like that, I went around town and tried to find a Fairfax Post Card - No such luck.

We have a lot of great photos of Fairfax Sights taken by JoAnne Wilkins, Mike Cain, Steve Ratte and a number of other people, so the other day when I went to St. Albans, stopped by and talked with Regal Art Printers.  They told me that they do do post cards and are going to send me a quote.  I ended up going to Haline's Hallmark Store and checking to see what they had.  They had a whole display rack of Vermont Cards, so I picked up 4 of them.  Really surprised at how cheap they were, only 35 cents each.  I have no idea what the price from Regal Art will be, but sure it will be much higher than that.

I asked them to give me a quote on colored post cards, as some of the photos I have seen, it would just not be right to produce them in black & white.  Will see what they come up with anyhow, as it might be something that The Fairfax Historical Society could do.  The lady did tell me that I would need to get approval from the owners of the photos before they would print them.

The Fairfax Historical Society is planning a project for 2009, and we will announce it Sunday November 16th at our meeting at the Fire Station.
I can certainly contact other printers to see if they, too, do post cards and maybe get a quote.
I know I did one picture of the snow-covered covered bridge that would be good.
Maybe TWO projects for 2009?
Thanks Henry!!
