ANDREA M. “ANDY“ BALCH
BURLINGTON — Andrea M. “Andy“ Balch, 50, a lifelong resident of Burlington died peacefully on Sunday, Nov. 2, 2008, in the Vermont Respite House in Williston following a short struggle with cancer. Andrea was born in Burlington on Jan. 11, 1958, the daughter of Russell and Sylvia (Hebert) Goodsell. She graduated from Burlington High School in 1976, and was employed for many years with McKenzie of Vermont. Andy is survived by her husband Barry Balch; three children, Krista, Richard, and Michael; four grandchildren, Colin, Caden, Catherine, and Elizabeth; her father Russell Goodsell; her sister Paula and her husband Robert Whitcomb; her brother Glen Goodsell and Martha Alice; her sister Martha Goodsell; her niece Megan; nephews, Dylan, Dennis, Caleb, Ely, and Sam; and extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her mother, Sylvia Goodsell in 2000. Visiting hours will be on Saturday, Nov. 8, 2008, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon in the LaVigne Funeral Home, 132 Main St. in Winooski. Graveside services will follow at 1 p.m. in St. Luke Cemetery in Fairfax. A reception will follow for family and friends at the John's Club in Burlington. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Vermont Respite House, 99 Allen Brook Lane, Williston, VT 05495.
