Post by: Henry on November 24, 2008, 03:36:58 PM
Police are on the scene of a home invasion in North Hero, Vt.  It happened around 1:40 p.m. Monday at a home on Abnaki Road.

The homeowner told a Fox 44 Local News Reporter that he came home and noticed a strange vehicle in the driveway.  The homeowner says he blocked the car, and then went inside, where he found the man.  He told Fox 44 Local News there was an altercation, and then the intruder climbed out a window and took off on foot.

A neighbor says she saw the man steal another neighbor's vehicle and took off.  Police found the car a short while later; it was empty.

We have a crew at the scene and will update you as soon as more information becomes available.

A lockdown has ended at schools in Grand Isle County following a home invasion in North Hero this afternoon.

The supervisory union’s five schools, in Alburgh, Grand Isle, Isle La Motte, North Hero and South Hero delayed dismissal of their students for about an hour beyond the typical dismissal time of 2:30 p.m., said George Nelson, the district’s project contract coordinator.
