Title: Mother Of Marlene McCoy Passes Away

Many of you, I am sure will remember the McCoys, John & Marlene who lived where Ben Albee & Chelsea Clark now live on Main Street in the village.  John & Marlene purchased the home from Stephanette Potvin back in 1980 and prior to that, the house was owned by another old time Fairfax resident, Charlie Dougherty.  Marlene's father, Bert Denno passed away while he was living here in Fairfax with John and Marlene.  I was quite surprised to learn from Rose's obituary that John has also passed away since they moved from here in 2003:

ESSEX JUNCTION - Rose M. (Bluto) Denno, 83, of 128 West Street, died unexpectedly on Friday, Nov. 21, 2008, while traveling with her daughter to Florida. Rose was born on Aug. 5, 1925, in Underhill, the daughter of Merritt and Ida (Bapp) Bluto. She married the late Bertrand F. Denno Sr. on June 10, 1943, in Holy Family Catholic Church in Essex Junction. For the summer months Rose enjoyed being at her camp in North Hero. To pass away the hours, she knitted and crocheted mittens, hats and scarves which she donated to the church and schools while giving to her many grandchildren for Christmas presents. Rose will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Rose is predeceased by her husband Bert; twin daughters Brenda Lee and Dianna Lee; a brother Lincoln Bluto and his wife Helen; grandson Douglas J. Relyea Sr.; daughter-in-law Gloria Provost Denno; and son-inlaw John McCoy. Rose is survived by her children, Bertrand F. Denno Jr. and his fiance Anne Cartier of Palm Bay, Fla., Marie R. Kilburn and her husband Winston of Hebron, N.Y., Marleen I. McCoy of Fort Myers, Fla., and Julie A. McDonald and her husband Gary of Georgia; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and six great-greatgrandchildren; one brother Paul Bluto and his wife Ann of Branson, Mo.; one sister Patricia Peterson of Valinda, Calif.; one sister-in-law Bernadette Denno Hogan of Milton; and one brother-inlaw William Denno Jr. of Milton; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and many very special friends. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, Dec. 4, 2008, from 9 to 11 a.m., in Minor Funeral Home, Route 7, Milton. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., in the Funeral Home with Father John G. Feltz officiating. Burial will be held at a later date in the spring in the Holy Family Cemetery in Essex Junction.
