Title: Analog Converter Box - Unreal Reception
Post by: Henry on December 03, 2008, 07:54:58 PM
I picked up a couple of Analog Converter Boxes today at Radio Shack - After using my coupons, it cost me $48.38.  I have installed one on the TV in the living room with splitters to two spare bedrooms - Comes in clear as a bell.  The one in Maryann's room, I will hook up tomorrow, but there should not be a problem, at least I don't think there will be.  The are both Analog Pass-Through DTV Converter Boxes and the name on the box is DigitalStream.

I get channels, 3-1, 3-2, 5-1, 5-2, 22-1, 22-2 (Test Pattern), 33-1, 33-2, 33-3, 33-4, 44-1, 44-2 - Absolutely unbelievable - I did not get Channel 5 or Channel 44 before.  All channels are clear as a bell.

In order to receive Analog Channels, all I have to do is press AD on the remote.  Radio Shack had two models, and the salesman told me, even though they both costs the same, the one I have is much simpler to use.

So far, very happy with it, even has a program guide.

I think our government got it right when they mandated this conversion to digital conversion! It is definitely an improvement over the old analog signal.

If I had known you got this kind of reception, I would have gotten one of those boxes just as soon as Channel 5 went digital - We have had an ongoing battle with WPTZ way back when we got our big 10 foot satellite dish - They insisted we could get channel 5, but would never come up to check me out.  My sister just up the road gets it find, but not me.
