Title: 4 Year Old Georgia, Vt Pre-Schooler Forgotten On School Bus
Post by: Henry on December 10, 2008, 06:45:43 PM
Channel 3 had a story tonight about a little 4 year old pre-schooler that fell asleep on the school bus.  The bus driver did not notice him and locked the bus and left.  The little boy got out of the bus and started walking up Route 7 to where he thought his day-care was.  A good samaritan picked him up and returned him to the school.  I will link to the official story once I can find it up on the Internet.

That is a really scary story and could have gone wrong in so many ways. I can't imagine what I would do if that happened to my kids.

Anyway, I'm glad the child is okay!

I would think that this is a good example of "standard" procedures. Turn the engine off and walk to the back of the bus before closing the doors. Not only is it a good time to see what the children may have forgotten but it is also a good time to see if you have a sleepy one or a not so sleepy one. This in my opinion would be extremely frightening to a little child.
