Well, today I was up at Rick's Pharmacy and for the second time in as many years observed a young man at the Condom Display Rack. He lifted a package of condoms from the rack and walked around the store a bit then out the door. I did go and get the license plate number from his white pickup truck and identified him on the surveillance camera for the clerks in the store. I doubt that Rick will do much followup as it was only a $5 package of condoms. I did not recognize the young man, but the pharmacist on duty told me that the main reason young men shop lift condoms is that they are embarrassed to go to the counter with them. The location of the condoms is perhaps not a good one, especially since this is the second time I have observed someone shoplifting them at Rick's.
I told the pharmacist, I probably should have questioned the guy, but he didn't approve of that - By the time I was able to attract somebody behind the counter's attention, the guy had left the parking lot.
