Title: Photos Of Steeple Market On Christmas Morning, 12/25/2008
Post by: Henry on December 25, 2008, 08:45:26 AM
A bystander this morning told me that the fire is believed to have started from the furnace.  The store had just closed at 8 p.m. and not long after smoke was seen billowing out of a vent.  Fairfax is now left without a store where you can purchase a pound of fresh hamburg or have someone behind the meat counter cut you a couple of nice steaks.  Last year Pierre had added the cooler on the side where Isabel Boutin lives.  Just a terrible, terrible loss to the town, not only for its Historic value, but its convenience as a grocery store with a full line of groceries.

In the late 1970s St. Luke's Parishioners attend services where the Steeple Market is today. Frank & Betsy Berardinelli purchased the church in March 1981 and opened their store in August 1981
