Title: This Is Upsetting - Can't Believe Someone Would Do That
Post by: Henry on January 12, 2009, 07:43:41 PM
On the Channel 3 News tonight they told the story of police finding a dog in a car at The Burlington Airport.  When they removed the dog, he could hardly lift his head.  In checking things out a little closer, police found that the car had a ticket in it that showed it had been parked there since December 18, 2009.  The car had a Quebec Registration.  They gave no further information on who the owner of the car was.

How anybody could leave a dog in a car and give no further thought to it, I just cannot fathom.

There must be more to this story, perhaps something happened to the owner.  I can't fathom any human being that owns a dog would intentionally leave it in a parked car at an airport in below zero temperatures. I have heard of animal crualty in other forms but this is just unbelieveable.  I hope we find out the rest of the story.

They don't have the story up, but I copied the script which is what they actually said, hopefully I got it right, but this is what the script said:

"Burlington police are investigating a case involving a dog that may have been left in a car at the airport for a long period of time. Police got a call about the dog last Tuesday. They say the poodle-like dog could barely lift its head. The car had Quebec plates and a parking garage ticket found in the car had a date of December 18th. The city's animal control officer removed the dog and it was apparently brought in for emergency medical attention. That officer was not in today so we were unable to get more information. A spokesperson for the department said she could not comment on any open investigations."

sadly, it happens with kids too! i can think of 2 stories i heard of last year to that effect with horrible endings.  With all this technology, convenience and luxury comes with a price tag - invasive and permeating distractions.  One would think you'd knwo if your child is in the car, and pet ( as a pet is a child of the family), but get on that cell phone, where your friend tells you some new juicy , mind-blowing gossip, then hang-up and turn on the tunes ..... distractions distractions. Sad, it is.
