Title: Interstate 89 Closed In Georgia
Post by: Henry on January 17, 2009, 09:34:29 AM
Vermont State Police say a half-mile stretch of southbound Interstate 89 in Georgia has been closed because of an accident and will remain so until about noon.

The multiple-vehicle wreck, which occurred about 6:25 a.m. Saturday, forced the closing of the southbound lanes at Exit 18.

No other details are available, although I have heard it was a couple of tractor-trailer trucks, one carrying milk and another carrying grain, but that is unofficial.

Nothing except a short blurb on The Burlington Free Press Web Site.

The wreck involved four vehicles -- including two fully loaded tractor trailers -- and happened just before 6:30 a.m. in Georgia. Vermont State Police say closed a half-mile stretch of the southbound lanes for nearly six hours after the chain reaction accident.
