Title: Video Of The Steeple Market Fire
Post by: Henry on January 20, 2009, 08:47:04 AM
My daughter is working on the video and has it converted to MPEG, however, it is like 41 minutes long and to big to upload to YouTube, so she plans to break it up.  I have an account on YouTube, but she will be working on uploading it.  This is the video that Deanne Morin took - Will let you know when it gets up there.  The Fire Department has a DVD with the video on it that Deanne gave them.

Mary Kay has been trying to upload the video after editing it back a bit, but it is still a very big file - It has bombed out twice - She converted it to MPEG, which someone had posted was the format - She has worked really hard to upload it, but it may not be possible.

About a year ago, I had to break a basketball game into 10 minute segments.
It took a long time.

Mary Kay got 2.30 minutes of the video up which is the first part of the Steeple Market Fire.  Click on the following link to view what she put up.  Many thanks Mary Kay and Deanne for taking the video:

I have just uploaded another 10 minute video that was taken by Deanne Morin to YouTube.  Many thanks to Deanne and Travis Morin for that and my daughter for helping me get it up on You Tube.  Just click on the link below to see the building fully involved:

Henry / Mary Kay,

What is the size of the file and format it is in BEFORE you convert to MPEG?

OK Mike, here is the scenero:

Deanne gave me the video in an original format I could not view in my Windows Movie Maker - The size was 1.58 GB

Mary Kay took that video and converted it to MPG which had a size of 842 MB

I took the MPG and converted it to WMA with 67.7 MB

Uploaded it to YouTube and that went fine until YouTube tried to process it and they came back with an error that said the movie was too long.

I clipped 2 1/2 minutes off from the original and left 10 minutes on it.  There are now two videos up there that equal the total 12.35 minutes that Deanne Morin gave me.

Mission Accomplished

Yes Mike, I tried to send you a note and got a mailbox full, so have been watching the obits, but anyhow, click on the following link for the 10 minute one.  There is also a 2 1/2 minute one as I could upload the whole thing as it came up as an error saying the video was too long:

Henry,
I had to to go to Nome for a few days for work and then to Dutch Harbor. Then we got stuck in Dutch Harbor for a few days due to weather.
No need for an OBIT but I was at the end of the Earth.

Videos,
I uploaded to Google Video, the video that I sent to you and Chris a few months. (The one of the moose relaxing on my deck.)
Boy did it diminish the quality. It is a 40MB file.

I shot it with my Canon Powershot A720IS. I didn't realize that it took such good quality video.
It is 8 mega pixels with a bx optical zoom. The plus side is that it fits in my pocket.
