When I last looked at the thermometer before I went to bed it was 16.5 degrees below zero and I was prepared for the 25 degrees below zero this morning. I was so grateful to see it was only zero when I got up this morning.
And I'll bet the firemen were grateful last night that it wasn't a fire they had to go to about 1 a.m. this morning. I had been thinking earlier that on a cold night like this, some people might be pushing their wood fires a bit and our poor firemen would have to go out in this frigid weather - Fortunately, I think it was only a carbonmonoxide detector going off. Rescue was called out shortly after for a call, both of them up in Fletcher.
