Title: Official Town Budget Warning To Be Voted On March 3, 2009
Post by: Henry on January 29, 2009, 01:09:39 PM
Last year's Town Budget was $1,820,229 and the town had to raise $1,486,921

Last year's School Budget was $11,151,579

I got the figures above off last year's Town Warning and since I am not sure of what I am doing, please feel free to correct anything I have stated here:

I'm just curious- Does anyone know how the town budget was lowered by $90,000 for this year?  Was anything large cut out of it?

I am sure they will have a foil they will be presenting again this year like they did last - Bill Ormerod is a member of the forum, maybe he will read this and answer your question, although the Chair of the Selectboard this year is Judy Cleary instead of Bill Ormerod.

You will notice though even though the budget may be lower, more has to be raised by the taxpayers.

I have been in contact with the Selectboard and as soon as they have the approved budget presentation ready, they will make it available to me so you will have an opportunity to look it over before the public meeting.
