Not sure if it is just my age or not, but just hate going through this address change thing. I use Eudora which downloads my mail from Yahoo, which is the address I use on all my web sites for the spammers to use and now Fairpoint instead of Verizon.
It did transfer my mail from Verizon down when I did the download from Fairpoint, or I should say, it did most of them. It did leave a couple up there and again this morning, I went up on Web Mail and checked Verizon and there were a couple it didn't transfer. I suspect it probably feels it made up for it by downloading duplicates of everything that was sent to Verizon.
Sooooo, this morning, I am sending out my address change notices and will all the groups I have will be a chore and I know some people will be getting duplicate notices, so bear with me.
I do have to admit, at least so far, it is going better than I thought it would.

I would recommend making creating another Yahoo account for your personal email instead of going with a Fairpoint address. Using a Yahoo, MSN Hotmail, or Gmail (google mail) account is not likely to ever go away and there is no need to change it if you change Internet Service Providers.
I would recommend gmail as they give you 7GB+ of storage for free so you are not likely to run out of space. There is really no need to even download to your Eudora inbox (although you could if you wanted).
I have two gmail accounts and actually forward my Power Shift emails to my gmail account. That way I have all my emails available to me no matter what computer I am using.

Yahoo has unlimited storage, and you can make up folders to handle specific topics. I've had 3 web provider changes since switching to yahoo and never had to change my address.
I got tons of email from verizon guys yesterday, I have about 50 contacts that are verizon mails and changed them all to myfairpoint yesterday by cutting and pasting.
