Title: Vermont & Plattsburg TV Stations Going All Digital On February 17
Post by: Henry on February 05, 2009, 09:24:02 AM
Congress voted to push back the digital transition on Wednesday, but there will be no delay in the Burlington-Plattsburgh market.

Years of planning and expense have gone into the transition from analog to digital, but concerns that millions of Americans were not prepared led Congress to move the deadline back to June.

The bill does leave the option for stations to switch sooner, and all of the stations in this market, including Channel 3, will make the switch as scheduled on Feb. 17.

A smart move by our local television stations as Vermont Public Television would have spent about $100,000 on powering their old equipment for four more months.  There has been plenty of warning.
