Hilda A. Juaire
Georgia - Mrs. Hilda A. (Sweeney) Juaire, age 88, died Sunday evening, February 22, 2009, in the Northwestern Medical Center with her loving family at her bedside. She was born in Fairfax January 23, 1921 daughter of the late Louis and Theresa (Dashno) Sweeney. October 19, 1938 she married Theophile “Tuffy” Juaire. Together they operated a dairy farm for many years. Hilda enjoyed attending bingo games, auctions, loved dancing, especially to country music, cooking, baking pies and donuts quilting and was an avid painter. One summer she painted their whole barn, by herself. Hilda was a communicant of the Ascension Parish.
Her survivors include her seven children and their spouses Madeline Juaire of Georgia, Ronald and Denise Juaire of Swanton, David Juaire of Georgia, Anita and Albert Wells of St. Albans Bay, Roger Juaire of Georgia, Martha and Terry Bergeron of Sheldon, Susan and James Lapan of Sheldon, daughter-in-law Lee Juaire of Georgia, 13 grandchildren Daniel Juaire and companion Sherry, Micheline and Ed Kelly, Angela and Chad Carr, Micheal and Chrystal Juaire, Matthew and Kristin Juaire, Lisa Wells, Leslie Wells, Kevin Wells, Theophile Juaire, Timothy Callan, Theresa Callan, Michelle Lapan, Melissa Lapan, 10 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Hilda was predeceased by her husband Tuffy, June 15, 1974, her daughter Pauline Juaire in 1942, sister Veronica Miller in 2004, brothers Arnold Sweeney in 1997 and Stanley Sweeney in 1989.
Due to the capacity of Ascension Church, a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Holy Angels Church, Lake St., St. Albans at 11:00 A. M. on Thursday. Friends may call at the Brady & Levesque Funeral Home, 86 South Main St. from 6 to 9 P. M. Wednesday. Interment will be next spring in the Juaire family lot in St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Fairfield.
