Rep. Carolyn Branagan, of Georgia, has been nominated by town officials in Fairfax for the 2005 Vermont League of Cities and Towns Legislative Service Award.
The second term legislator represents the towns of Fairfax and Georgia in the Vermont House.
Steve Jeffery, executive director of the Vermont League of Cities and Towns, said, "We received numerous nominations for this award this year. The officials and volunteers who are nominated are, without exception, people whose understanding of and commitment to local government is unvarying and accomplished."
Branagan said the nomination means a great deal to her.
"Representing my district in Montpelier is the best job I've ever had," said Branagan. "I stay in as close communication with my constituents as I can, but I still feel sometimes like I'm working in a vacuum. This nomination means they are watching and appreciating my work. I am grateful for that."
