Doppler Weather Map shows no snow here - Interesting how the snow is all around us again this storm.

Just received a note from my daughter who works at The Shipyards in Portsmouth, NH:
"Well, I left home a little after 6 and made my way up to the Shipyard - although the roads were snow covered and it was snowing pretty steady, the Explorer handles it well.
We had around 6-inches on the ground before 7 AM and we're expecting another 6-8 inches. My shovel is in the car to make sure I can get out of the parking lot, so not too worried - thank goodness I have only an 11 mile commute!"
Our local weather forecast is as follows:
A major winter storm will pound the New England coast with heavy snow and wind. We will be on the western edge of this storm, so it won't be nearly as bad as it will be near the coast.
A *WINTER STORM WARNING* remains in effect east of the Champlain Valley until 4 AM Tuesday. 5-9" of snow can be expected in this area through Monday night.
A *WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY* is in effect for the Champlain Valley until 1 AM Tuesday. 2-5" of snow will accumulate in the Valley. Northern NY will only receive 1-3" of snow from this storm.
Winds will be brisk out of the north, 10 to 20 mph with higher gusts. That will blow the snow, creating low visibilities at times.
The storm will wind down overnight. It will be very chilly for a couple of days, but we'll see a slow warm-up as we go through the rest of the work week.
