Sugaring at the Rainville's is an experience we look forward to each year. This is the time of year when winter is waning and spring is in the air. Jean and Fern are wonderful folks who share their stories and their hearts. With no commitments to steal our time on a sunny Sunday afternoon in early March we happened upon nirvana for five glorious hours. It was the social event of the month being among Jean and Ferns family, friends and neighbors. Roasting hot dogs, tasting homemade treats , eating 'Sugar on Snow' and catching up with the news of friends filled our afternoon. Oh, and yes we also helped with the syrup making. We left the Sugar House with two gallons of Maple Syrup still warm knowing the sap was in the ground that very morning. Julie,
You get a Gold Star - Fantastic photos. I am so happy people are beginning to post and put photos up. As I get a little older, don't have the energy that I used to. The forum and photo gallery have come a long way since January 2004 - For you Julie, Carolyn Branagan and Our Old Faithful Fairfax Photographer JoAnne Wilkins, many thanks for sharing with all of us.
