Title: Nice Article By Leon Thompson On Leader Evaporator In Messenger

The Weekend Edition of The St. Albans Messenger contains a nice article written by Leon Thompson.  Fairfax & Fletcher has some ties with that company with Bruce Gillilan and our Fire Chief Dean Potter working there.  As I was reading the article, it brought to mind a company I was aware of back in Fairfield that started at the end of The Buck Hollow Road, across the road from the little brick school.  The Company was called Soule Evaporator Company and was in St. Albans when I remember it.  Don't know if Leader Evaporator is an offshoot of that company or a brand new company that started on its own.  Nothing comes to mind to me of both of them being in the same business at the same time.

Whatever way you look at it, Leader Evaporator, which is located in Swanton, is a local company producing a product well used locally.

  I beleive Leader bought out Soule in the early 50's. Before that Soule was in the building in St. Albans and Leader was out of a building on Pine street in Burlington. I have worked there just under a year, and I am still trying to get all the history straight.
