Seems like a nice thing to do for those in the community that have laptops, but no high speed internet - Someone told me that you can use your wireless laptop if someone has a wireless router if you are within 300 feet of the router - You might not even have to go in the library, you might even be able to sit out in the parking lot in your car - I am no computer whiz, but also sounds like something Comcast could do as a community project to entice new customers.
Free wireless at St. Albans Free Library
Those who wish are invited to explore St. Albans Free Library's fast Internet network using your own wireless-enabled laptop computer. Free access is provided in all public areas in the library and at all times the library is open.
Things to know before you use the library's WIFI:
Your laptop must be wireless-equipped
There is no printer access at this time
Staff is not allowed to assist with laptops, wireless network card, or configuration
You must abide by the St. Albans Free Library's Wireless Network and Internet Use Policies.
Why WIFI?
• Fast connection
• No need to wait for an open computer
• No time limits
• Save files permanently to your own hard drive
