Title: Fairfax Town Plan 2008 - Great Information About Fairfax
Post by: Henry on March 29, 2009, 08:41:45 AM
Things are kind of quiet on this cloudy gloomy day, so decided to click on the Fairfax Town Plan and read a little about Fairfax.  Each time I look at it, I think about what a great piece of work it is.  Wonder if any of our High School Students have read it.

I am a firm believer in that you have to know something about it before you can love it and this is a great place to start so you can understand and love the town you live in.  It shouldn't be just a place you leave in the morning and come back to at night to sleep.

We are very fortunate to have people like Mike Cain, who is our Fairfax Historical Society President and a life long resident of the town.  I believe I can safely say that Mike has never even given a thought to living any other place.  He is extremely conscientious in regards to keeping The Fairfax Historical Society going, however, it is very difficult to find people that have an interest in joining as a high percentage of our residents have roots elsewhere.  On the other hand, I receive many notes from former residents and people who were born and grew up in Fairfax who still have a strong interest in what goes on here.

If you would like to learn more about our Town, click on the link below.  It will give you a start in understanding what Fairfax is all about:

I checked out the town plan--looks like Fairfax was quite a happening place in the 1800s! All of those shops! Just for one minute, I would love to see what that was like, too bad we can't go into a dream sequence like on TV!

Thanks for putting up the link to the town plan, I wouldn't have read it otherwise.
