In regards to the crime spree in St. Albans, where a group were responsible for many crimes; from torching a warehouse, to torching a little league dugout, to the school bus vandalism, and the theft of toys for for needy kids, the excuse given was that they were bored. These kids don't need jail time, they need a punishment that will make them help the community. Perhaps the one crime I find the worst is the theft of toys for the needy kids.
Hopefully, the residents of St. Albans don't blame themselves that they don't have a youth community center to give their kids something to do. I remember the day here in Fairfax when kids use to gather in groups at different places for a lack of something better to do. It has been a number of years now since I have seen this. Not sure what they are doing now, but suspect most of them have jobs, or I do see a number of them playing sports at the school.
